inklight is the Creative Writing Society of St Andrews. Here is a piece of slam poetry (poetry usually read aloud without props, costumes or music) written by final-year Physics student and inklight member Sebastian Taylor. We thought that it would resonate with many of you in the University community just now!

Watching this spoken poem again and cannot recall if I said this the first time I watched it, but it is just so beautiful and touching and heartfelt. Thank you for sharing your words, Sebastian. From a mother bawling her eyes out <3

Thank you Sebastian, what great thoughts you have expressed during this wild time that the world is going through. Keep ringing your mum.

How lovely, my sons don't call me everyday, it would be good it they did, however all, bar one, have called more often which is good. The trouble is they know me as resilient, 'Mum will cope", maybe I need to be a bit more of a wilting flower................I have always hated wilting flowers!!
