£1 million donation to postgraduate scholarships
We were delighted to receive a £1 million donation this month from Dr Wu Xianhong of the The Wu Xianhong Foundation, which the University is using to set up postgraduate scholarships, with a focus on students from People’s Republic of China.
Dr Wu and his party spent two days on 5 and 6 June in St Andrews with an itinerary that included a tour of the Schools of Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science and a visit to Special Collections.
Principal Professor Sally Mapstone hosted a dinner for Dr Wu at University House, also attended by trustees of the Wu Xianhong Foundation, and presented Dr Wu with a replica of the original Papal Bull.
